Consistent Staffing

Hiring and retaining quality employees is a key objective in providing our customers the service we expect them to enjoy. A common complaint we hear about competitors is that they never send the same technicians out to their site. This creates inconvenience to the customer and they have to take more time out of their busy schedule to "re-train" the technician on how to work in their facility and show them where everything is located. At Echo 24 we are cognizant of this and endeavor to keep the same technicians assigned to service the same clients whenever possible.

Work Hours

Prefer not to have technicians disrupting your workspace while your staff is conducting business? Some of our competitors might say to you "if you want to make an omelet, you have to break some eggs" or try to charge overtime for scheduled after-hours work. Echo 24 takes a different approach. We understand our clients business needs come first and will work with you to minimize disruption. This means that we do not charge premium time for evening work that is scheduled in advance.

Quality Control

We are very proud of our reputation for quality service and workmanship. What sets us apart is our own written workmanship standard which we train and enforce rigidly. Often I hear competitors make statement to assure customers they will provide a high quality installation. In these statements, the competitor will say something like "our installation will comply with EIA/TIA standards, BISCI standards, and the National Electrical Code".

In never ceases to amaze that they don't even realize these reference standards do not address actual workmanship! These standards are intended to be used for design and engineering. The only mention of workmanship is in the National Electrical Code which states "Communications circuits and equipment shall be installed in a neat and workmanlike manner". As you can imagine, the phrase "neat and workmanlike" are very broad and subjective, open to widely differing interpretations.

That is why at Echo 24, we define workmanship in writing and tell our technicians exactly what it means to us before they ever step foot on a customer site. Our periodic inspections are geared to ensuring the installation was performed in accordance with our unique and thorough workmanship standard.

Telephone System Training

Often when discussing the sale of a telephone system with a prospective client, we are asked "will you train us?" The very fact that this question is asked is telling in that many of our competitors do not offer this standard with installation.

Echo 24 recognizes that the perception of quality of a telephone system is directly proportional to the level of training received by the client.

Often we hear customers talk about what a "piece of junk" their phone system is. Sometimes, the truth is that they have a high quality system, but since they were not trained very well or at all, the customer is having problems and this reflects poorly on both the manufacturer and dealer.

In addition to system manuals and documentation, Echo 24 provides on site training standard with every new installation. For small systems, this can consist of a trainer spending an hour or two with the customer going through the features and operation of the system. For larger installations, Echo 24 may provide a team of trainers to provide training over a shorter time period or we may offer revolving hour long classes over a period of days or weeks.

Project Completion and Documentation

Have you ever been told that a job was completed and then when you went to see what had been done found that your idea of "complete" or "done" was different than that of the person who did the work?

These words have been the cause of much angst in our industry. Let us tell you what we think they mean (or rather what they don't):

  • if trash and debris haven't been removed from the work area, it isn't done
  • if tools and equipment haven't been removed from the work area, it isn't done
  • if the cables or phone equipment haven't been tested, it isn't done
  • if jacks and cables are not properly labeled with printed labels, it isn't done
  • if punchout items aren't cleaned up, it isn't done
  • if CAD drawn as-builts were promised, it isn't done even if the physical on site work is complete
  • if test documentation was promised, it isn't done even if the physical on site work is complete
  • if manufacturer warranty was promised, it isn't done even if the physical on site work is complete
  • if the client doesn't think the job is done, chances are very good that it isn't!

At Echo 24, we have a system in place to track project completion and ensure that when we say a job is done, it is in fact complete. If we state that the physical work is complete, you should expect to use the system we installed free of trouble.
